Hey there. Thanks for watching this series. I'm sorry that I sounded quite annoyed/mad/irritated at the end. I guess I was just disappointed in myself and the game that I had unintentionally gone towards the end game without getting to explore the other areas I wanted to. Apparently this is the true ending. I'm going to be making at least one more video for this first playthrough by resetting to day 40 and playing from there to attempt to see the areas I missed, and will probably be ending this "season" if you want to call it that.

I plan on replaying this game in the future from the beginning, but I'll probably wait until they release a patch for the game. The amount of problems I encountered earlier and throughout the game warrants waiting for bug fixing to experience the game properly. I don't want to have to murder the Chicken Lady again or anyone else for no reason. There's several things I could've done differently and it will be interesting to see what changes. I'm going to be appending my Steam review to this if you want to read it.

Thanks again and I hope you enjoyed this playthrough.

I've only played about 2 1/2 hours of this game and I already know I'm going to be spending a LOT more in it. I love the atmosphere this game oozes. The music fits the tone of the game perfectly. The ambient music is very unsettling and moody and reminds me a lot of Resident Evil/S.T.A.L.K.E.R./Silent Hill.

The game does not hold your hand in any way and you learn from your mistakes as you try to survive. The combat is pretty 'souls-like', but it doesn't have the player rolling around dodging left and right constantly. Having to time your swings just right so you land your hits feels satisfying and I'm looking forward to seeing what other weapons I'll get. Seems like the game has a decently sized crafting menu and many things to unlock and learn.

I won't go into the story here at all but I am definitely interested to learn what exactly is going on. The Prologue level of the game did exactly what I wanted it to and I applaud it for flipping it around the way it did. I enjoyed the twist and look forward to see what else the game has to offer. I just wish the game had voice acting. That's one of my only complaints about it. That and some slight UI issues with menuing. I wish I could drag and drop items without having to click on them and then click again but I just have to get used to it.

If you're a fan of Resident Evil, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Silent Hill, Don't Starve, Dark Souls, or The Forest you should definitely check this game out.

EDIT:

I beat the game. After 35 hours I say this was definitely worth playing. This game is a must play for any survival horror fan. You are missing out on quite an experience. Just stop reading these reviews and play the damn game. It's worth every penny.

Despite having quite a love/hate relationship with this game, I ended up really enjoying my time playing it and I will miss the fear and mystery of the unknown even though there is still quite a bit left unknown to me. I am highly anticipating anything else this studio makes. Hopefully we get some kind of sequel or continuation of this game.

The end game was a bit dissatisfying for me only due to the fact that I ended up going towards the end/epilogue instead of exploring other areas I had wanted to. I wish the game had some kind of prompt telling the player "hey, this is a point of no return -- are you sure you want to continue?" but I guess that's on me. This game doesn't hold your hand and that's perfectly OK. I look forward to seeing how the game changes depending on my actions in future playthroughs.
