Day of the Tentacle: Longplay/Walkthrough
The iconic, and arguably most popular, Lucas Arts 90s point-and-click adventure game for MS-DOS and Windows, played through with most dialogue options. This game was remastered for the PlayStation 4 and a couple other platforms fairly recently, featuring a new graphics style as well as the old pixelated version, but this recording is the original game, with MIDI music disabled, to give it that classic old computer sound.
Three college students, Bernard the nerd, Hoagie the rock and roll food junkie, and Laverne the sociopathic science lab geek, are roped into returning to the Edison family mansion from the game's predecessor, Maniac Mansion, after receiving a letter of distress from their old acquaintance, Green Tentacle, a strange creature from one of Dr. Fred Edison's experiments. Purple Tentacle drank toxic sludge from a river, thanks to Dr. Fred's Sludge-O-Matic machine, and mutated into an evil tentacle with arms bent on world domination. The students are forced into going into Dr. Fred's time traveling porta-potties - the Chron-O-Johns - to return to yesterday and prevent Purple from drinking the sludge. However, the diamond powering the time travel units breaks mid-travel, sending Bernard back to the lab, Hoagie 200 years in the past during the creation of the Constitution of the United States, and Laverne 200 years into a dystopian future ruled by evil tentacles. Cartoon shenanigans ensue as the trio flush objects back and forth to solve puzzles, return to present day, and ultimately return to yesterday and stop Purple Tentacle. Many humorous scenarios and jokes are present throughout the adventure, making for a highly memorable and enjoyable experience.
