Now this is a bit of an odd one. I was first introduced to this game as a demo on a cover disk of ST Format magazine. I remember playing it quite clearly back in the day and having a great deal of fun with it, but now I come back many years later and discover that it was never released. I can't find much information about this one, other than an Amiga port which also never found a publisher, but I'm glad that we have managed to get to see something rather than having it lost forever.

Daylight Robbery would have been a 1-3 player platformer where the simple objective is to steal everything in the stage before the time runs out and the timer does go down quickly so you will need to be fast. You can only pick a certain colour of a block at any one time so it actually becomes a lot harder than it initially appears, although I did play it in single player, I’d imagine that it’s much easier in 3 player mode. Your character has no real defences but does have a nifty little trick in that pressing the fire button allows you to switch the orientation of the character so that they switch between the ceiling and the ground for movement. Overall it’s a nice original concept that makes it more of a shame that it didn't become a bigger game.
There is also a bit of a puzzle element to the game as you can’t actually pick up all the blocks littered in a stage. Take for instance level 4 with its block on the left that is in a gap too small for the character to reach. So how do you get it? Well you have to get the enemy to remove it for you by steering them into the path by removing the white block on the ceiling on the right hand so that it goes through the floor and takes out the block.

Graphically the game is colourful and full of detail, I always enjoy the opening animation where you literally have to break the lead characters out of jail in order to begin the game. Although there are three different animals that you can play as, I have never noticed much of a difference between the three, it looks to be a straight sprite swap.

If you want to play this one you will have to track down cover disk 29. I do not know how long this title is because I have never been able to complete it, it just does not give you enough time to work out the exact combination of events that you need to trigger into getting some of the collectables on the level.
