In DayZ you'll end up bleeding a lot. Whether it be sliding down ladders, breaking wood, getting ruined shoes, fighting Infected Zombies, getting shot, getting bit by wolves & bears, or simply some bad luck, you're going to need how to know how to stop bleeds safely and reduce the risk of infection.
First, make sure you're wearing good shoes and gloves. Next, always have sterilized or disinfected bandages & rags on hand to treat your wounds.
Use disinfectant sprays, or alcohol & iodine tinctures to make normal rags safe, use them same on wounds early if you get blood poisoning, and have tetracycline ready for the worst cases of septicemia.
