This is the first in a short series of Let's Play videos for the ARMA2 Combined Operations mod, DayZ. DayZ is still in beta so changes rapidly. It can be very difficult for new players to get a start (you don't start with a weapon) and so this series is to show you how you can make a start in the game.

This video covers:
* Filtering your server list (I use 6 Updater for updating the game files but not for launching).
* Locating where you start.
* Using a map (I use http://dayzmap.info but there are others).
* Prone, crouch and stand stances and the impact on your visible profile.
* First person and Third person views.
* Peripheral vision for spotting animals (and vehicles).
* Planning a raid using the map.
* Looking at your Gear inventory.
* Equipping your torch (but the L key didn't activate it for me in the video).
* Approaching a loot location.
* Free look while crawling (using ALT key)
* Rolling (Q and E keys while prone)
