The AH-64D combat helicopter is a modern, 2-crew, close combat attack helicopter designed primarily as an anti-armor "gunship". It boasts an array of advance air-to-ground weapons including the AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and a 30 mm gun. It's powerful Longbow radar (AN/APG-78) fire control radar can track and engage multiple battlefield targets. Apache pilots employ the Integrated Helmet And Display Sighting System (IHADSS) to integrate the aircraft's various sensor and weapon employment.
In this training you will step through the AH-64D's start up procedures; establishing electrical power to the aircraft, starting its engines and enabling basic cockpit displays.
Before beginning this training, you should be familiar with AH-64D HOCAS/HOTAS functions.
Also, review the basic flight systems section of the DCS AH-64D Guide. Special attention is invited to the AH-64D IHADSS and MFD displays and symbology.
