This medium utility helicopter is very easy to learn and fly EXCEPT while you're trying to land it.
It's very fuel thirsty. I think its tendency to lose lift while descending and it being so thirsty on fuel is the consequence of it being heavy and armored. It's probably the easiest helicopter to learn and to fly in in DCS. It's a free mod in DCS though, so I do not know how accurate the flight modeling is, but you can tell this helicopter is a wealthy nation's helicopter by the ease of operating it (automation and features), by its size, and by how easy its assisted flight control system let you fly her.
The Mi-8 can fly higher and carry more load as it is the heaviest medium utility helicopter in the world, but you can tell everything in it is so spartan and operating/learning it is a complex endeavor with so many switches. This is more like a jewel than the Mi-8, more comfortable and simple by automation.
