This is a short tutorial on how to use DDrescue to make a disc/disk image or clone a failing disk. The method shown includes multiple retries as well as the ability to start back off where it left off to attempt to recover more data. I learned this trying to recover some rare video footage off a disc rotted DVDR in order to preserve as much of the footage as possible.

In this example i am making a disc image of Diablo 1.
