Dead Cells | PC Gameplay & First Impressions
If Dark Souls has taught us anything its that death is inevitable and not necessarily the end of our adventure. A ethos that Motion Twin have taken onboard in their new roguelite metroidvania - Dead Cells.
At first this game appears to try and be everything to everyone - roguelike, metroidvania, hack 'n' slash, souls-like. And when others attempt this smörgåsbord approach to game design they sadly become a messy directionless entity. But even after a few minutes of playing you can tell Dead Cells is different. With solid combat, colorful yet brooding visuals and a rewarding and addictive gameplay loop this game seems to nail the basics. And has plenty of scope to grow as it enters Early Access in a few weeks time.
