This will work on all difficulties, I'm not sure if it's a glitch or it's intentional but either way it is higher beneficial for you while playing this game. This will work on all difficulties including Hardcore. To do it you need to reach the bench in Chapter 2 then wait for it to autosave, quit out to main menu. Once there all you need to do is load up the "Weapon Crafting Arena", then save and quit as soon as it loads up. Resume your game and you will have infinite ammo. This trick will disable itself during the last few chapters during the free fall sequences, to re-enable it just do what you did here but make sure to quit out when it auto-saves.
