Dead Space developers reveal graphic improvements in upcoming remake
The development team at Motive who are currently working on the Dead Space remake held a developer livestream recently and gave a look at some of the upcoming technical changes we can expect.
When they say the remake is a remake from the ground up, they really mean it, with the latest livestream looking at new character models, refined lighting effects, immersive environments and amplified visual effects.
All of these changes were made possible by the Frostbite engine, which has been used on other blockbuster games such as Battlefield 2042, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and the FIFA series.
Small changes that add depth to the game have been detailed, including how the environment reacts differently when faced with zero gravity, or how light behaves when rendered to react in real-time.
Overall, the improvements show a dedicated team working hard to stay true to the Dead Space franchise, whilst using modern technology to improve on the elements fans have come to know and love.
Dead Space is set to release on January 27, 2023.
