Dear Esther - Island Walking ASMR (1440p)
3No music, no narration.
The game has no sound options to mute either the narration or the background music, so I quite literally had to walk the long path in order to accomplish this end. That's right, I walked through two of the levels from beginning to end, triggered all musical cues and all pieces of monologues, so that eventually I would be free to just chill around with nothing else but the wind blowing into my face and the grass silently whispering into my ears.
This gameplay/ambience montage was originally recorded for my Sonic Frontiers video essay to demonstrate well crafted abandoned places as a counterexample for Frontiers' barren and boring landscapes. Thought it would be a waste to not give this footage the proper justice separately. :)
