Death Stranding 2: On the Beach picks up after the events of the first game, with Sam Porter Bridges (Norman Reedus) having attempted to live a quiet, reclusive life in Mexico, raising Lou, the former Bridge Baby who is now a toddler.
However, peace is short-lived. A devastating event, the specifics of which are a major plot point, pulls Sam back into the world of deliveries and connections. His former colleague, Fragile (Léa Seydoux), who has formed a new company called Drawbridge, approaches him with a critical new mission.
This time, Sam's journey extends beyond the United States. He begins by connecting facilities in Mexico, but the grand objective is to extend the Chiral Network across Australia, a continent now facing new and intensified threats from the Death Stranding phenomena. This new setting introduces more varied environments and dynamic weather conditions like sandstorms, earthquakes, and even bushfires, adding new layers of challenge to traversal.
