So I missed quite a few secrets in this level. I did a practice run and played part of the way through the level, but this is a game that I always wanted to play back in the day, but have only recently acquired at a thrift store. Having not played this for years, I still don't know where all the secrets are in the level.

Normally I use the PS3 to upscale my PS1 games, but I had sound issues when trying it that way. Either my sound settings on the PS3 are wrong to output this game's sound, or this is a case of the PS3's emulation not being perfect. My solution was to play it on an original PlayStation console with the Hyperkin PS1/PS2 HDTV Cable which is a solid choice for the price. The Hyperkin cable doesn't display the reds perfectly, they are a little off, but for the money, it upscales PS1 and PS2 games nicely. It does have a bit of a softening filter which doesn't look perfect for 2D games, but overall, for the money, it's a good choice in my opinion.

As far as Deathtrap Dungeon goes, if you can get the hang of the controls, which are looser than even Tomb Raider's controls, the level designs, and gameplay is solid. The controls will be the biggest issue, but the level designs shine as a great example of design in the era where developers were trying to design great levels for players to explore, instead of designing a great story for gamers to watch.
