This is a recording I captured a few months ago when testing my generators for the winter. There are some very deep bass and even sub-audible tones in this sound that are heard and felt best if you play it through a large subwoofer.

What I like to do with this one is play it in a distant closed room at a reasonable volume. That way it sounds a lot like having a generator running outside. I associate this noise with the comfort of going to sleep knowing that a generator is keeping our essentials running inside during power outages.

I hope this video resonates with some of you as well. Let me know down in the comments if you've had to run generators overnight and have any particular feelings about this sort of noise.

Also, a special thanks to my girlfriend ( Bemily on Bluesky ) for the great painted table art in the background so that you don't have to see the rest of the junk in my yard.
