Deka's April Fool's hack in action (JF-17)
Refer to their FB.
I had some idea on what was going to happen, but some moments still got me thinking... I mean, look at those near zero speed pitch reversals. Just how on Earth??? Control surfaces need airflow over them to be effective at all (let alone THAT effective) unless the aircraft in question indeed does have TVC...
Then again, if that "hack" would switch on unseen TVC, it would definitely give more control over things. And from the pure aerodynamics standpoint what's happening during these "zero speed hangings" looks completely impossible to me.
Of course, one could argue that since the trick was posted on April the 1st, this is just a little joke akin to what ED did with their "Hornet slot machine". But I highly doubt that is the answer to this behavior. It appears to me as a deficiency in flight modeling...
Oh, and by the way, this doesn't help a whole lot in a dogfght, as I have already tested. It does help to lose all the speed though.
