everything seems to be working fine after a few days, you can go ahead and remove these files. You don’t need to delete the Windows.old folder by hand, and you shouldn’t. In fact, some of the system files you need to remove are located outside of the Windows.old folder, anyway.

Starting with Windows 10’s April 2018 Update, you can now erase these files using the new “Free Up Space” tool in Settings. To access it, head to Settings ..System ..Storage ...Configure Storage Sense or Run It Now
