Since I was unable to get Jedi Knight set up properly to stream, I had to fall onto my backup game. Descent II, using the D2X-Rebirth engine. And, in keeping with my promise I made during the first Descent, I am not using mid-level saves as I play.

Which makes me run face first into a wall on the 4th level. There's just SO MANY enemy spawners on this map that I can't make any headway. I'll be modifying my rule to start with the save from the beginning of the level (I made the saves as a backup plan, and that's going into effect on DAY FREAKING ONE), just to TRY to give myself an advantage.

Because with this game, wow, I need it. They really ramped up the AI in this game, and it was already good in the first game. Enemies here have tactics that can be increasingly frustrating. They run, they attack from behind, they swoop around corners to surprise you. Really, it's pretty great. But it makes for a challenging game. I am going to keep trying, but frustration and fatigue was already setting in today.

I've decided tomorrow to restart the game, on Rookie. I've already added one level of challenge to myself with the "no saving" rule, so I will go ahead and adjust the difficulty down one notch to compensate. Just less headache for me this way. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
