Designers often struggle to make great games because they draw too directly from other games. It’s time to get back to the source: life itself. In this workshop, we will walk you through a design process that draws inspiration from our real world experiences. This approach will yield intriguing, creative, and fantastical ideas. In this panel we will design several magic systems (e.g. potion, spellcasting, and summoning) by taking inspiration directly from our personal experiences. Join us to learn how we can turn a daily routine of walking our dog into an unbelievable, hard magic system.
