Ellen and Julia Lupton are identical twins. They are co-authors of the new book "Design Your Life: The Pleasures and Perils of Everyday Things" (St Martin's Press, 2009). This illustrated talk will take a fresh, funny look at everything from housekeeping and entertaining to parenting and procrastination. Discover how design helps improve (and muddle) everyday situations, from pillows in the bedroom to computers in the kitchen. Find out why your bra doesn't fit, why the living room refuses to disappear, how one-eyed Siamese bunnies are rebuilding civilization, and how roller luggage is threatening to destroy it. The Lupton twins live and work on the East and West Coasts, respectively; this talk will be their first opportunity to take the stage together to discuss their new book.
