It is the year 2038, androids have become the norm in America, with 120 million of them in use. They look and sound like humans, but they are bound by very specific sets of instructions and cannot feel pain or experience emotions. Or at least that's how they were created to be. Over time, as more and more of them face situations that push them to the limit, a new phenomenon known as "Deviancy" occurs, where the androids break free of their programmed shackles and escape their masters. If this happens on a mass-scale, it could change the fate of the entire world, and we follow the story of some androids who find themselves in different but similarly challenging situations as they navigate their newfound emotions and desires.
