So, wanna play as a (maybe) redemption seeking anti hero re-turned hero, who doesn't want to get into another scenario of choosing to become a suicide bomber with floating metal body parts that can suvive 1.5 km of freezing arctic water pressure without needing to breathe because there was no save game import?

Well, at least Eidos had the balls to make a choice for a canon ending from a sequel with muliple endings. And honestly, there's nothing wrong with choosing the worst option: In fact that's a great idea. (Aside from destroying an established character...) It's how they connected the two stories, or didn't explain any of it, which is horrible.
