Deus Ex... With a Controller?
23This isn't how I normally play btw, I just tried to complete the level while playing normally as fast as I can. Just showcasing the controller is all.
So I made a profile for the original Deus Ex using 'Controller Companion' on Steam. Fantastic app and highly recommended. Game is totally playable (completely busting the myth that Deus Ex could never be played with one). However you have to go into the menu to use augmentations which is pretty annoying. Other than that it's perfect. Just use the keyboard to quick-save and quick-load. You can lean, change ammo, use laser sight, scope etc. Would be very helpful if this game had an auto-aim option but it was never made for controllers anyway. Played with an Xbox One controller. Oh and I'm playing with HDTP and New Vision graphics mods. Amazing how well this holds up when played with a controller. Feels modern. All it needs is the UI to suit it. No dumbing down needed. I also made profiles for Thief Gold and 2 which work absolutely flawlessly.
