Devil's Third is a very interesting game, critics have been giving it nothing but negative reviews, straying buyers from even remotely considering the game, But is it as bad as reviewers are truly saying?

The game IS quite bad upon playing the first few campaign levels, it's very buggy and has a bafflingly inconsistent framerate which target's 60FPS but very often drops. The combat is fun, with Melee weapons being fun to use as they vary with swords being useful as the mid strength in the game, and axes being useful for smashing heads and causing heavy damage. It's fun but it sadly isn't very complex with X and Y buttons being exclusively used for melee, The gun combat is serviceable with many different weapons to choose from and many are just as fun to use as the melee combat but it isn't as good and the aiming can be imprecise at times, but for the most part it compilments the combat nicely.

Multiplayer is pretty good fun, some would say it's great, its F2P (Free to Play) mechanics aren't as obtrusive as many say it is, Golden Eggs sure are a premium currency but it isn't as needed as many would say. The maps are unique and fun to play on and the combat fares better here than it did in Singleplayer. Multiplayer also has clans among many other features with makes it seem that Valhalla definitely at the very least put effort in Gamepad integration and how the game operates, there is a very nice amount of customisation to see here, with hair, clothes, head gear, weapons, weapon attachments and camos. Among many others, it's great to see that care was made to make Multiplayer a unique experience.

Singleplayer has it's moments and is often good fun but sadly doesn't really hold a true candle to Multiplayer, the boss battles are insanely hard, and can often put the easily frustrated away from the game, but it has an oddly satisfying feeling that drags you back to see how the games levels look or how the story pans out next, as a result it has an odd charm.

Overall? The game's negatives are: Inconsistent Framerates, tons of Bugs, odd difficulty spikes and very unfair and hard bosses. The positives are: Fun melee and gun combat, good multiplayer and interesting environments in the games singleplayer levels.
