It is very important to make sure Garland is stacked with good spheres.
Mine has Cloud, Raijin, & Noel: amounting to an extra 10% BRV Damage & 30% Attack.
Your setup doesn't have to be exactly like this, but it better be close.

The strategy:

- Remove every single speed passive Garland has, of which there are 3: Ability Speed Bonus, Buff Speed Up, Buff Boost Speed Up
- Garland will more than likely take two HP attacks at the start, one from each of the small wolves. This is a good thing, as it unlocks the Odin summon passive for the entire fight.
- Burst immediately
- Rush the boss down to 79% health in order for the small wolves to retreat. Utilize Round Edge to keep delaying all targets.
- Starting at this moment, you have 12 actions left until the wolves come back and you have to rush the next HP threshold (49%)
- On the 12th action, use either a c65 or a call ability. This will prompt the wolves to return without taking your turn advantage away.
- When he's all alone, spam HP+. Only use Soul of Chaos when Garland's buff has 1 turn left. DO NOT LET THIS BUFF FALL OFF. His damage will drop dramatically, and you will fail the turn count.
- Once you reach the 29% HP threshold, kiss the small wolves goodbye forever. Now, it's a race against the clock. Don't get too eager. Keep your rotations going, and stay focused.
