Diablo III (Gameplay #9) - The Lord of Murder Shall Perish [ENDING]
0As with most Blizzard games, Diablo III is impeccably produced and painstakingly balanced with a generous amount of content and excellent replayability. However, it's also an unimaginative and deeply conservative sequel - seemingly hell-bent on faithfully reproducing almost every aspect of its 12 year old predecessor (albeit on a much smaller and often less impressive scale) - and, as such, does very little to convince me that the traditional Diablo mechanics are even relevant any longer. Add to that a horrendous, downright shameful DRM solution and it's clear that this time Blizzard did *not* get away with merely remaking one of their classic games (Starcraft 2 faired much better in this respect, at least when viewed as a glorified service upgrade to further facilitate the thriving "eSports" community).
Allt this being said, Diablo III is by no means a *bad* game, and I will check out the higher difficulty modes (which include far better loot and crafting opportunities) at some point. There are definitely more compelling new releases to spend one's time with, though, so this time I hope Diablo will truly stay dead for at least 12 more years...
