And now for a very serious video, presented in a not-very-serious manner. Path of Exile has a pretty reasonable microtransaction system, but... there's some things going on there that are really *not* okay.

If you've been playing Path of Exile for more than five or six leagues, you probably have a grasp for how much the game has changed over the years. If you remember Kaom's Heart having +1000 HP on it, you've probably seen A LOT of change. Has it all been good, though? The game is fantastic, but Path of Exile is a Free to Play game, and even for the 'no buyable power' giant, that comes with certain unsavory practices.

The best thing for we, the consumers, is competition between those those vying to earn our business. Diablo IV was a specter of consideration for Path of Exile, but after Diablo Immortal, what is there to challenge Path of Exile? Us. We're there to challenge the game, and while I have every faith the modern cavalcade of gamers who return every three months can tell the devs what the game needs to remain fresh and engaging, there's been alarmingly little said about the more dangerous financial tactics being employed lately.
