John had previously stated that he was done composing anything else for the Star Wars universe after finishing up the sequel trilogy. When John found out about the Kenobi show, he contacted Kathleen to request to write a piece for Obi-Wan himself. He had noticed that Obi-Wan had never had a character theme written for himself in the previous films.
