This is the prologue where cyberspace is being attacked by viruses and hackers. The viruses evolved into "Digital Monsters". Takumi (nickname: AIOBA), Nokia (nickname: Akino), and Arata (Nickname: Blue Box) are part of a chatroom where they hear rumors about a mysterious ghost in cyberspace. The rumor among hackers states that those who encounter "Ghost of the White Boy" in Cyberspace EDEN have their data erased and are no longer able to access EDEN. The trio go to investigate in the Coulomb. Arata goes off on his own when he sees a glimpse of the ghost, but Nokia is too scared to move. The "ghost" appears in front of Takumi who gives him a "fragment of memory". Terriermon, Palmon, and Hagurumon are rookie level digimon which are distortions in the Coulomb. Just then, a Chrysalimon appears and chases after them.
