The games' English names were officially confirmed on May 16, 2007, and they were officially released on September 18, 2007.
Although the games are called Digimon World in the west, they are actually part of the Digimon Story franchise. They are the second in the series, following Digimon World DS, which was also mistranslated in the west to World.
