Disgaea 4 (JP) - Normal Ending Epilogues
Press show more for spoilers.
Requirements: Obtain the normal ending and the epilogues will follow after the credits. The Vulcanus epilogue is the default epilogue. The other four epilogues require the use of a certain Evil Symbol.
Note: Since the official NISA names have just been released, I'll be using those instead of the ones I've been using in the previous videos. I won't go back and change the names in the previous videos because I'm too lazy to do that.
As you can see, NI is doing things differently with Disgaea 4's endings. Similar to Soul Nomad, you get a different epilogue depending on certain actions. Despite the implications, there are no branching choices in the game. Instead, you obtain the epilogues with the use of a certain Evil Symbol (The equivalent of Disgaea 3's Clubs) and do certain actions with the characters.
In order:
Vulcanus Epilogue (0:00)
Valvatorez and Altina (Vulcanus' real name) look back at the events that have transpired as well as the promise they made 400 years ago. Valvatorez reminds Altina that the promise was for him to not drink her blood until he shows her true terror and now he's prepared to do so. However, Altina says that he has waited long enough and is willing to finally let "her vampire" drink her blood. Whether or not Val does is up to interpretation.
Fenrich Epilogue (4:54)
Fenrich tries one last time to get Val to drink human blood and regain his power, but Val refused once again. However, Fenrich decides to renew the vow he made long ago under the full moon, but this time he vows to make Val not just the greatest in the world but the greatest in the universe.
Fuka Epilogue (8:49)
Fuka is tired and has no idea what to do now that everything is over. Val then tells her that she can start acting like a Prinny to which Fuka refuses. Unfortunately, the entire game has essentially proved without a doubt that Fuka died and should have become a normal Prinny. Still, she manages to get out of working as a Prinny and finally decides to go through the wish she made when she was just five years old: Taking over the world.
Desco (Valvatorez "Onii-sama") Epilogue (12:00)
Unlike in the Fuka epilogue, it appears Fuka has decided not to go through with world domination, after all. While Desco can still live her life as Fuka's sister, the last boss side of her is still there and doesn't know what to do. Val decides that since Fuka isn't taking over the world, he will take over the universe and needs a last boss at his side to help him do that. Desco is so overjoyed that from now on she will refer to Val as her "Onii-sama" (Big brother).
Emizel Epilogue (15:53)
From the beginning, Val had called Emizel "kid", but he feels that he has grown enough to finally drop that. Emizel wishes to continue making his father proud and plans to begin that by kicking Axel out of office and taking over as the 63rd president of the Netherworld.
Btw, though there are other endings in the game, Disgaea 4 does NOT have an ally kill ending like the previous the games. No shocking tear jerking deaths and no enraged main character who spills blood.
