Dishonored: Revisiting My First Challenge Run a Decade Later
962Dishonored is a game with a long and storied history of challenge runs. While there have been many runners of many flavors, it's hard for me to deny a sense of sentimentality toward the title, as it was the first I ever attempted. Literal years before I would even know the term "challenge run".
The rules are as follows.
1. No Killing anything.
2. No detection for any reason.
3. No upgrades. Corvo is wonderful as he is.
4. No abilities, except where mandatory.
5. No objects or gear, except where necessary. You know what you did, game.
6. In the event that any rule is broken, I must then reload a save where one has not.
The incredibly strict ruleset makes things a fair bit harder to manage, but I greatly admire just how much this game shines at any zoom. Be it quick and bloody or silent and unseen, I just adore the polished feel that almost everything in it has. So for those that voted for it, thank you for giving me this chance to revisit a whole lot of memories along the way.
