This is a review of the 2010 Blu-ray of Disney and Pixar’s “Cars Toon: Mater’s Tall Tales.” This Blu-ray contains 9 shorts that aired on the Diney Channel in 2008 and 2009 that were created by Disney and Pixar. The shorts on this Blu-Ray include “Monster Truck Mater,” “Tokyo Mater,” “Unidentified Flying Mater,” “Heavy Metal Mater,” “El Mater-dor,” “Rescue Squad Mater,” and “Mater the Greater.” It also includes two never-before seen shorts, “Moon Mater,” and “Mater Private Eye.” Out of all the shorts in this collection, my favorite is probably “Unidentified Flying Mater.” Both the Blu-ray and DVD have bonus features, like unmade “Mater’s Tall Tales,” a Pixar Studios Story called “The Queen has No Hands,” and all-new intros for each of the nine shorts, with my favorite of the intros being the “Tokyo Mater” intro, due to the Japanese-style imagery used in the intro. I hope you enjoy the show and see Mater and his best friend Lightning McQueen in these 9 hilarious tall tales. 🚗🏎️🚘🏁🇯🇵🗾🎌👽🛸🚒🎸🐂🪐☄️🚀🌕🌙🤸‍♂️
