Two stances when it comes to Danny Swervez and Steve "Slick" LaPage, two Next-Gen Racers of exactly the same model.

Disney thinks Danny is awesome and makes him the best performing background-model racer in the movie, and then makes merchandise instantly in just about every way, shape, and form they can. Steve is just a random piece of the background who places poorly and is just to be destroyed in a crash, which Danny is too far ahead to be involved in. Only put a Mattel Diecast of Steve LaPage in a box set for the sake of money.

To the average Diecast Collector, Danny's mainline diecast is a stupid piece of metal with rolling plastic tires. It gets boring seeing him time and time again, not to mention they'll already have two of him due to the packs with T.G. Castlenut and Harvey Rodcap. The only reason they can't call Danny stupid is because they are fans of the real Danny Suarez. Steve is just a differently painted Danny released later in the same Diecast Year, but he is treasure. One can only wish they had Steve LaPage...

I do not own Finding Nemo or Cars 3, all rights belong to Disney/Pixar.
