DIY 35mm Film Extractor
Oh no … my 35mm film leader is completely recessed into the film canister … what shall i do … what shall i do. never fear its Crusader Rabbit to the rescue. Create your own 35mm film extractor from the little bits and pieces left over from your 35mm film development process.
Dont spend hundreds of dollars on expensive 35mm film extractors, try this at home in the privacy of your own darkroom and see if it saves your bacon 🐷
there are several other online videos showing a similar process, i was skeptical 🤨 if it would work for a leader that had been trimmed for a leica iiif. the other online videos also show “special” trimming techniques for both top and bottom pieces of extractor film. i didnt think this would work at all for a leader that was modified the way i had so i didnt even pay attention or waste time with these extractor leading edge trimming techniques.
to my surprise it worked anyways. yay. hope you have the same success should you need to give this a try.
should you need to do this, the other online videos might be helpful to you if you wish to over engineer 😂 😂 😂 ... doing a search of something akin to “35mm film extractor” should yield you several similar and more complex alternate methods that you might find better suited for your application or personal preference.
good luck !! 👍🍀
cheers!
