DO NOT BUY this THRUSTMASTER BASE! Unboxing review and test drive in WRC 10.
In this video, I unboxed the Thrustmaster TS-XW Servo Base, which was released back in 2017. At first, I was skeptical about its performance given my unpleasant experience with the Thrustmaster T248. However, the TS-XW exceeded all my expectations. Its powerful force feedback system provides a lot of details about the car and the road, making the car predictable and easy to control.
The response time is very fast, and the rotation of the steering wheel is smooth, which further contributes to the car's predictability. I was able to achieve similar lap times in all the races I played in WRC 10, which shows that the TS-XW also offers consistency in lap times.
The only downside of the wheel is, of course, the outdated and difficult-to-use wheel attachment system to the base. However, overall, I am impressed with the TS-XW's performance.
However, I cannot recommend anyone to buy the TS-XW due to its high price point. Currently, it is priced between 500 and 600 euros or dollars for the entire package with the base, steering wheel, and pedals. In comparison, the Moza R5, Fanatec GT DD PRO, or CSL DD are much better options at a similar price point, offering direct drive wheels instead of belt-driven ones like the TS-XW.
