2,855In this video, I will show you how to get Wrex’s family armor in Mass Effect 1. I highly recommend completing this mission before Virmire, for reasons I’ll explain later in this video. There will be spoilers for the Virmire mission, but I’ll give you fair warning before I dive into that section of the video.

Wrex is one of three squadmates with a personal mission you can complete in Mass Effect 1; with the others being Tali and Garrus. In order to trigger Wrex’s quest, you’ll need to speak with him on the Normandy several times. New dialogues will typically pop up after major missions, so I recommend speaking to all your companions after every main story mission to unlock new quests and possible romance options.
I recommend doing Wrex’s personal mission as soon as possible. The goal when speaking with him is to get him to open up about his family. After a handful of conversations he will tell you about his father’s death and why he fled Tuchanka.
At this point, you need to investigate further and ask about his family. This will unlock the mission to retrieve Wrex’s family armor. Wrex mentioned that Tonn Actus has several bases. The one we are looking for is on the planet Tuntau, which is located in the Phoenix system of the Argus Rho cluster.
You’ll need to bring Wrex along in your squad. Also, if you don’t have the decryption skill on your main character, I recommend bringing either Garrus or Tali as well because the armor is in a locked crate.
So let’s talk about how this mission impacts Virmire. If you haven’t played Virmire yet and want to avoid spoilers, then turn back now. When you reach Kirrahe’s camp outside Saren’s compound, Wrex will be furious that you plan to destroy Saren’s genophage cure.
This will typically result in a standoff that needs to be resolved with a charm or intimidate speech check. If you’re unable to pass the check, then you’ll need to either shoot Wrex yourself or Ashley will shoot him instead.
However, if you retrieved Wrex’s family armor before Virmire, then Wrex will automatically stand down during this confrontation.
