In todays video I show you what I did as soon as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate was announced.
*You NEED to get as much Xbox Live Gold as you can (36 months maximum) BEFORE you get any deal or subscription to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. When you get the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, it Automatically converts your existing subscriptions (Xbox Live Gold, Game Pass) to a Ultimate Game Pass. Basically setting and converting everything under 1 banner/subscription. see video for info. This is a 1 TIME conversion so You can only do this once!!!(verified per Microsoft information FAQ)

What I did:
I had already 12 months (Xbox Live Gold & Game Pass) so I added another 24 months (36 months total) of Xbox Live Gold. So my total BEFORE conversion was 36 months of Xbox Live Gold and 12 months Game Pass. Then I added the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate deal that's currently available and it Automatically converted everything to an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the Xbox Store for E3 promo!
Now I have 3 yrs (36 months) of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (which includes):
Xbox Live Gold
Xbox Game Pass Console
Xbox Game Pass PC
It's a crazy value and well worth it!! All you basically need to do is just get as much xbox Live Gold that you can afford BEFORE you start a Ultimate Game Pass as it will convert everything under this new subscription... The more Xbox Live Gold you get the More you save!!
**I dont believe you can only stock up on only Game Pass because under the subscription settings info panel it shows (on Xbox Dash board and PC info) that the Xbox Live Gold is cancelled and/replaced with Ultimate, so the new Ultimate is the NEW Gold subscription...
All this info I have verified myself as I have done exactly this. Also the Xbox Game Pass FAQ states info on what happens after you convert see link for more info(bottom of page)...

**It will Convert your existing Gold to Ultimate @ a 1 to 1 ratio. It will also add months if you also have Game Pass by these month ratios (per Microsoft FAQ)
**Conversion Rate AFTER Ultimate Conversion if old subs redeemed (per microsoft):
Subs / Ultimate
1m Gold = 20 days
3m Gold = 50 days +1m
6m Gold = 79 days +2m
12m Gold = 4 months
24m Gold = 8 months
1mGPass = 20 days
3mGPass = 2 months
6mGPass = 4 months
12mGPass = 5 months
24mGPass = 10 months
