We are starting a new series; "Does it SHRED?!!" that tests non-unique weapons in Borderlands 3 for mayhem viability. This is designed to help newer players as well as returning ones. Farming for specific legendaries can take a significant amount of time if you're leveling up, so these alternative weapon choices might be able to speed things up due to their much higher drop rates, or let you play the game differently if you are bored with your current play-style.
TL;DW:
- we test non-unique weapons in mobbing and bossing scenarios
- weapons are tested for viability starting on Mayhem 1
- a "shredder" is a weapon we can confidently give to someone that is leveling up and feel confident they can deliver damage efficiently and quickly so as to not die so much and potentially get frustrated and quit
- anything failing to shred will be offered as a community challenge to make shred....did we do something wrong when testing? is that weapon truly a hidden gem we missed? let us know!
