A superb 2D vertical shooter from Toaplan. Played here on the original Korean PCB with my RGB Supergun and Bang & Olufsen MX4000 CRT TV.

Featured gameplay background music is a high fidelity remix of Dogyuun Magic (1st level soundtrack).

Music and sound from the actual PCB is widely known to be a bit muddy, something to do with the compression of various sound channels, memory limitations and the large quantity of sound effects stuffed into the game.

However, graphics and playability are on par with anything made at the time. Toaplan intended for this game to be "the flashiest, best looking game we have ever made" and with the possible exception of Truxton 2, they were right.

Bosses are one of the main attractions, both graphically and in putting up a hell of a challenge. Checkpoints, long levels, scarcity of smart bombs and hyperspeed bullets as you progress, all ramp up the difficulty to almost epic proportions.

If you want a non-checkpoint playthrough, do what I did here and activate player 2, merge ships with button C and keep feeding in those credits!
