OK so I did this video with a view to making a commentary and then decided that less was more, even though it is probably less on this occasion.

Vimana is a pretty neat shooter from Toaplan. It features a nice spread shot weapon which can be charged for a .... bigger spread shot. The bomb is also pretty neat, as it homes in to things without going off all at once.

Level design is neat but underwhelming at times. Enemies come in decent shapes a sizes and occasionally dart about pleasingly. Bosses are on the dull side however.

At seven levels it isn't the biggest game around, nor is it the most playable, suffering from a crippling difficulty curve. I have set my dipswitches to easy and 5 lives.

I believe this game would suit the more underground Astro-naut who thinks continuing is a sin and that shooting games are only worth playing if they make you want to punch the control panel when you die. Personally I prefer a bit less edge and a bit more fun. Overall kind of cool if you like this kind of thing.
