Just like in DKC2 and DKC3, the original Donkey Kong Country has some interesting cheats that you can enter from the file select screen! Need some extra lives? Want to listen to the game's soundtrack? Then watch on to discover the interesting secrets that lie within the "Erase Game" option. Also shown in this video is an interesting cheat that will allow you to continue from the last level you played when you get a game over, which is perfect for worlds like Gorilla Glacier where there are a lot of levels to beat before unlocking Candy's Save Point!

File Select screen cheats:

DARBYDAY - Sound Test
BARRAL - Start with 50 lives
BADBUDDY - Allows the inactive player to take control by pressing the select button in Two Player Team mode.

Title Screen Cheat

DYDDY - Allows access to a secret bonus room where the player can play animal token bonus games as much as they like. This cheat is also used to continue the game if a player gets a game over.

(D = Down, U = Up on the directional pad. L & R correspond to the buttons on the top of the controller)
