Donkey Kong Country Returns (RG111)
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D comes out in North America today, so I figured that this would be a very fitting Random Game of the Day! If you were a fan of the Super Nintendo Donkey Kong Country games then this will definitely not disappoint you, as Donkey Kong Country Returns bring back the crazy platforming action, well hidden secrets, barrel throwing fun, and good difficulty level that the original games had! This game also features an incredible soundtrack that consists of great remixes of all of the music from the original DKC, these tunes fit in very well with all of the returning world and level themes that any veteran of the series will definitely recognize and enjoy!
The new version for the 3DS also offers eight new levels, each one based on a theme from one of the worlds in the game, as well as items that will make the game a little bit easier for the player (because unlike a lot of games out there today, Donkey Kong Country Returns doesn't hold any punches and has a very high level of difficulty in some levels and especially later on in the game). I find it strange that they decided to re-release this game after only being out for three years on the Wii, although hopefully this means that we might see a new game in the Donkey Kong Country Returns series in the future! So definitely check out this game if you never played the Wii version, or if you are interested in any of the new features!
Be sure to check out my good friend Tealgamemaster's channel if you want to see more of this game, as he is currently doing a full Let's Play of the new 3DS version! Here is a link directly to the playlist:
