7A modified version of the Guardian appears as the final boss of The Lost Mission mini-expansion campaign included with the BFG Edition. He appears as the final enemy guarding the captured teleportation unit located deep inside Hell. This version of the Guardian uses similar attacks as the regular version, but is not blind and does not launch seekers. Instead of deploying seekers, this Guardian lobs a series of mortar-like energy balls from his back. He can be harmed by regular weapons fire, and does not need to be targeted in a special area, unlike the regular Guardian. However, he has significantly more health than the regular version, able to withstand 3 or 4 fully charged shots from the BFG 9000 before falling (which would make his health on par with that of the Cyberdemon and Maledict, the final bosses of the game's other campaigns). Additionally, hitscan projectile hits on him only seem to register during and immediately after one of his attacks.

The Guardian of Hell, or simply known as the Guardian, is the second boss in Doom 3. It is seen exclusively when the player reaches the end of the Hell level. This crocodilian-like demon stands more than 15 feet tall, just a little over 2.5 times taller than a human soldier. It guards the Soul Cube and the player must defeat it to obtain the Cube.
Hell Outpost
Doom 3: The Lost Mission is an expansion pack for Doom 3 released along with Doom 3: BFG ion on October 16, 2012. It was sold as an included bonus in BFG Edition for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and is only available through purchasing the BFG Edition.
It consists of 8 new levels, most of which were originally cut from Doom 3 (hence its title). The campaign features a new story with new voice acted log entries, as well as weapons and enemies from both Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil.
The Lost Mission consists of 8 new levels, mirroring the 8 level mission structure of each act of the original Doom (minus the 9th secret level). The levels are:

The Lost Mission does not introduce any new weapons or monsters to the game. Instead, it re-uses content from both Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil excluding Lost Souls (which are replaced by Forgotten Ones as they are in Resurrection of Evil), the Cyberdemon, Sabaoth, Vulgars, Hell Hunters, the Maledict and the Artifact. The Soul Cube can only be found on Nightmare difficulty, acting similar to the original Doom 3 - killing demons charges it, providing player some sort of medkits substitution.
However, it does introduce BFG Edition's remastered visuals, as well as certain areas that appeared in Doom 3.
Chronologically speaking, the player character in Lost Mission is the first Marine to actually enter Hell. This is because of the given fact that in Doom 3, the Doomguy has to reach Delta Labs and fight through numerous obstacles.
Lost Mission technically contradicts the original Resurrection of Evil's manual story (the manual story is not printed in the BFG Edition) in that it introduces more survivors of the events of Doom, who escaped on the Darkstar shuttle
