Doom: Going Down (Featured Mod) - Map 21: Indigestion (UV-Max)
2Going Down is a 32-level megawad for Doom II released by Cyriak Harris (mouldy) in November 2014, featuring its own original soundtrack by the same author and a custom DeHackEd boss monster (replacing the Wolfenstein SS). It requires a Boom-compatible source port to play. It is known for its small, fairly hard maps with high body counts, and gameplay the author has described as "chaotic-evil".
The WAD was named as a winner of the 21st Annual Cacowards. In 2023, Going Down was also included in Doomworld's Doot Eternal music feature for Doom's 30th anniversary.
In November 2024, on the 10th anniversary of Going Down's release, Harris released a special edition of it called Going Down: Turbo. Both editions became featured mods for Doom + Doom II.
Something went wrong at a UAC office building, and Doomguy is sent to investigate, starting from the top of the skyscraper and getting to the bottom of the story. While doing so, he is often interrupted by nagging phone calls from his mother, which advance the plot humorously: accessing the secret levels, for example, is explained in-story as going back to the roof to get a better reception.
Map 21 is probably my most hated map in the wad. The end of the previous level kills you and forces you to start this level from pistol start, and there is not enough ammo to kill all the enemies, meaning you have to use your fist. NOT my strong suit. Once you get the red key you do get a rocket launcher, but not enough rockets to kill everything. However, there are also two sets of crushers to help you kill everything.
There are no secrets in this map.
