messages from me to 4shock back in July 2022. I was curious about this run, I knew 14 was possible but thought it would be batshit insane. I did 2.5k attempts and got 15.34 with obvious issues but I still knew 14 was doable just didnt know how hard. I knew a barrel boost could be worth it but yeah quit the run. And hardly played doom late 2022-whole of 2023-early 2024.
Fast forward to 11th Aug 2024, I had already gotten 2 proper grinds off of my list since I returned in July, I thought id try this again. alps built a 14.4 with human enough inputs while i was grinding e1m1, i thought okay nice ill try whenever
tried the run for the first time, i tried getting 14 from the glide, and couldnt really do it, i kept messing up the ending but thought okay, fine
i practiced the barrel boost and shit and yeah it felt very hard but i thought theres no use practicing ill just grind until i get a run where everything comes together.
i got 15.17 easily, wow epic, then oh my god, the run showed me how it fucking acts all the fucking time. stupid ass movement shit doesnt work i miss the switch for no reason and oh my god the ending!!! seriously. i could never get it consistent the stupid opening and the stupid entrance to the exit omg its so bad i had fucking HUNDREDS of 14 paces at the lift which arent even that hard to get its just the end man and the stupid glide bruh its like the e1m1 quickstart all over again i wanted to cry and weep playing this what the hell
15.09 after 5k new (7.5k total) attempts, tied it a few times with shit endings as usual, 15.03 after 8.5k (11k total) attempts, now nearly 13k attempts and 14.97. AND IT MISSES THE BARREL BOOST. BRUH. WHY. now i look silly and goofy af. stupid ass run seriously. dont do this
i should learn to enjoy this game sometimes
