To access the red key on this level you'll need to Run to get across a gap and through a window. In original PC Doom games, 'Run' was typically enabled by holding the Shift key. In modern console ports, Run (sometimes called Sprint or Speed) is often enabled by holding the left-side trigger on the controller.
Note that many modern versions of Doom II now include an Auto-Run or Always Run option. If this option is On, then holding Run at the same time may slow you down to walking speed.

Note that only score-affecting Items and areas are shown here, so some objects like weapons and armor vests are ignored.
