The UAC, led by a cyborg named Samuel Hayden, opens portals to Hell and studies the demons and artifacts there. However, the plan backfires and the demons start invading Mars, where the UAC has a research facility. The player takes the role of the Doom Slayer, a legendary warrior who awakens from a sarcophagus to stop the invasion.
