DOOM SnapMap CATATONIA - Episode 1
0Ok, I find this map and this one not bad. Let's see what we have.
"Design" - like you see author use only modules, but at this map. Map created with creepy style, UAC after invation of demons. It's my style of creation and this map not bad. All in fire, leaved workplaces, blood. Nice features done in this map. I glad that I'm not alone with this style. Map really need more decoration if author use modules only. Useing modules is very good, but if that - be sure to add lot of decoration.
Ok, about rates. My rate is 7/10. Not bad, but modules half empty and this thing spoiled this rate. If you use BV's, so you can not use so many decoration, always I see classic maps, but if you want use modules and create UAC base with BV's - be sure to you more probs/effects.
"Gameplay" - it's good. I think gameplay in doom must be like this - no blocks in arenas, low ammo/hp/armor and no falling hp/ammo/armor from demons. However, I use arenas and elites with ammo/hp/armor, yes, but it's part of atmosphere. You can see that it was demon invation and soldiers try to stop demons and kill them. Here was too empty, no falling, no lot of ammunition, but not every player can like gameplay like this.
Ok, about rates. My rate is 7/10. I think it's honest opinion. I think here need more ammunition or hp.
"Atmosphere" - well, you see only fire, brocken equipment and dead employers/elites. Blood you can find not so rare, but it's, I think, too low. Must be more, it's UAC or not? Low hp/armor/ammo? Ok, and where elites, where demons blood on walls and floor?
It's my opinion about atmosphere. You know - I spend many time to create good atmosphere - you can see what I did in my maps, was many updates.
Ok, I think this map deserve 7/10. What you think?
Avarage rate - 7/10. Maybe this rate is lower then must be, but it's my opinion. I think must be more decoration, more things for atmosphere. You can did it, I know this. So, author - need work with map and rate will be much better, 7 - not bad.
