This is finally the one challenge I always wanted to try. I was wondering how Dark Souls can have insane zero hit challenges, but that's not a thing in Doom? You could say the hitscanners and you would be right. But in several places with the projectile demons, I can naturally dance around them without getting hit, while it feels impossible to me to fight few bosses in Dark Souls and never even get hit once, let alone die.

So, I thought it would be a viable challenge. However, to be precise here, I am not doing a zero hit finish the full game challenge here (that would be tedious and really hard), but finish each map separately without getting hit, if you die retry from the start of the map and not save spam allowed. Even that makes it hard and challenging, I died many times in E1M3 and it was starting all over again with overcoming a lot's of hordes.

Indeed, if it wasn't for the hitscanners, the challenge would be easier. I died too many times by hitscanners, but only once by an imp (which threw a fireball at me when I wasn't looking) and a Demon bite (which sneaked behind me). Under normal circumstances, I could dance around imp fireballs for an hour, but not the case with hitscanners of course. They need the peekaboo technique and a lot of luck and intense nerves.

I am surprised also that while I died a lot in other maps, I had a lucky first E1M5 attempt, and that's amazing as I thought this map would be extremely challenging for this (almost as challenging if no more than E1M3 which I thought I would never beat).

I will continue with this challenge from E1M6 where I stopped, hopefully we can get to E1M8 which will be pretty easy as there are no hitscanners except if the final pit where you are supposed to die. I am wondering how things will be in later episodes (maybe easier as they are more frequently populated by projectile demons). I will also try Doom 2 and even Plutonia at some point. That will be fun!
